Dear friends of NETSAH,

Since October 7, Shlomi, located on the Lebanese border, has been living under constant threat. Rocket fire, infiltrations, repeated sirens, full evacuation… 9,000 residents used to live in Shlomi; all were evacuated, and only 6,500 have returned. Shlomi is a symbol of Israeli resilience facing Lebanon. David Ben-Gurion used to say that Israel is defended by its borders.  At the heart of this town stands Rav Maimon High School, an essential institution. These young people live in a climate of insecurity, alternating between interrupted classes, shelters, remote learning and gradual returns. These children have endured stress, falling behind in school, family displacement and absences. We are launching an initiative to fund equipment for Rav Maimon High School: computers, digital equipment, audio systems to improve learning, strengthen teaching capacity and allow students to study in better conditions. Because supporting Shlomi means supporting Israel’s northern border. Because these young people must not be the forgotten ones of October 7. The South receives a lot of support, the North far less. Tomorrow we will be there to meet the Mayor of Shlomi with our friend Aliza. The budget for our commitment is €28,000. The B’nai B’rith Bonei Israël lodge is already funding €5,500. We have €13,000 in donations. That leaves just under €10,000 left to raise. You can offer a computer, a tablet, or simply take part in a simpler way. A name plaque can be placed in memory of someone who has passed away or a loved one.
